Large Atlanta employer looking for a enterprise consultant for the corporate portfolio. High level broad technical infrastructure consulting.
Summary: The purpose of the Technology Consultant (TC) role is to strategically design, develop, and implement the solutions (business solutions, etc) that support SunTrust organizational functions, or services throughout the business system lifecycle. This position leverages the incumbent’s extensive broad-based technology experience and expertise consultatively across the ETI organization.
This position provides technical leadership and consulting capabilities that are applicable across ETI at various levels of complexity across the organization, to ensure the successful delivery and operations of defect free business solutions. Responsible for the strategic and tactical decisions which impact costs, service delivery, quality of services, projects/programs and operational direction across the enterprise. This position translates business requirements into specific system, application or process designs, including working with architects, LOB personnel and executives to identify non-functional and functional requirements and in developing business justification.
Additional responsibilities may include research, design, development of systems, process and procedures; cost/impact analysis and Return-On-Investment; understanding and improving the daily operational execution of the business system, including development of process, workflow, and operation and recovery of the business system. Position reviews, evaluates and designs solutions to ensure long term business value or impact, measured by multiple metrics (scalability, performance, security, systematic and robust deployment and operational processes, with little or no defects). In addition, may include code development, testing, analyzing software programs/applications and hardware configurations for throughout the business system life cycle.
This position is responsible for the enterprise-wide design, implementation, and validation of operational and delivery activities for the largest most complex enterprise frameworks, projects and programs required to support functionality of the SunTrust IT environment.
The position uses a strategic approach for the design and operation of the business system; demonstrates an advanced level understanding of business process design, system integration, and testing methodology. Provides leadership and consulting across the organization to ensure successful delivery of services, products and projects. Teaches others about the theory and practical application of what happens and why it happens in the business system.
- Design and implement long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining corporate systems and software.
- Develop, gather and interpret business requirements.
- Consults and mentors technical resources concerning methods, procedures, and standards to be used during design, development, and unit testing phases of system development projects
- Provides thought and technical leadership to internal and external technical resources, vendors and management to meet project objectives and ensure deliverables are met.
- Develop, document, and communicate plans for investing in systems architecture, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
- Communicate with end-users, clients, vendor and/or senior management to define business requirements for complex systems and infrastructure development.
- Review new and existing systems design, projects, along with procurement or outsourcing plans for compliance with EIS standards and architectural plans.
- Continually research the information technology marketplace for new and innovative technologies and application development practices. Proactively propose these new technologies as solutions to business problems.
- Serve as a resource to all teams in evaluating and proposing technical alternatives for resolving project and/or product issues.
- Serve as technical lead for pilot projects in areas of strategic significance in which EIS does not yet have established skills and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
8 years experience in technology lifecycle management including planning, design, build, testing and operate methodology.

Advanced understanding of SDLC and ITIL methodology, strategy and tools.

Advanced understanding of computing platforms such as server, network and storage subsystems and protocols.

Advanced experience with system design, security principles, and general software management best practices.

Advanced technical knowledge of current software protocols, and Internet standards, including advanced network troubleshooting protocols.

Solid understanding of the TOGAF Architecture Skills Framework.
Basic Qualifications:
College degree or equivalent combination of education and technology design or support related experience.
8 years of progressive experience working in an architectural, engineering, or lead technical support role in a large multi-platform computing environment.
